Does Anton Sport Sell PFAS-Free Apparel?
As awareness of PFAS continues to grow, many organizations are asking questions about the materials used in the apparel they purchase.
At Anton Sport, we believe transparency is an important part of helping our customers make informed purchasing decisions. As questions about PFAS continue to increase, we’re working with apparel manufacturers to better understand the materials used in the products we offer.
What Are PFAS?
PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are a large group of synthetic chemicals that have been used in consumer and industrial products for decades.
Within the apparel industry, PFAS have sometimes been used in specialized water-repellent, stain-resistant, or weather-resistant finishes designed to help fabrics resist moisture and stains.
Because PFAS can remain in the environment for long periods of time, many businesses, schools, athletic organizations, and consumers are looking for products that do not intentionally use these substances.
How Anton Sport Approaches PFAS Transparency
Anton Sport partners with a variety of apparel manufacturers to provide quality decorated apparel, uniforms, team wear, and promotional products.
As part of our commitment to transparency, we have begun working with manufacturers to better understand PFAS use within their products and manufacturing processes.
One example is A4 Sportswear, which has provided Anton Sport with a written statement confirming that it worked closely with its suppliers to conduct a thorough review of its supply chain. Based on that assessment, A4 states that no Pre- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are used in its raw materials or manufacturing process.

“Moshay Inc., dba A4 has worked closely with its suppliers to conduct a thorough review of its supply chain. Based on our assessment we have determined that no Pre- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are used in our raw materials nor in the manufacturing process.”
Performance Apparel Without PFAS
Many of the performance characteristics customers expect from modern apparel do not necessarily require PFAS-based treatments.
Performance features may include:
- Moisture-wicking performance
- Quick drying
- Durability
- Shape retention
- Color retention
- Reduced shrinkage
These characteristics are often achieved through fabric selection, fiber composition, yarn construction, and garment engineering rather than PFAS-based treatments.
For example, polyester and polyester-blend fabrics naturally offer excellent durability, quick drying, color retention, and reduced shrinkage because of the inherent properties of the fibers themselves.

Not every garment is manufactured the same way. Anton Sport offers products from numerous brands, and material specifications, certifications, and manufacturing processes can vary by manufacturer and product.
